Thanks to all who came out to Open House even though it was raining!  Hopefully you were able to see some of your child's art, science or writing work.  Many thanks to Ms. Kirsten for putting together a great slideshow of pictures for us to enjoy also!

Many of you have had questions about the Trike-A-Thon.  It will be this Friday, the 9th, on the track by the tennis courts. Our class will be riding from 9:45 to 10:15. (I would suggest being at the track by 9:30 if you plan to watch)
*All children can participate whether they raise money or not.

*Each child MUST have a signed permission slip to participate.  Those forms, along with an envelope for donations, were sent home last week.  Please let us know if you need another one.

*CLEARLY LABEL your child's bike AND helmet with his or her name.  Drop of the bike at the track--there will be an area marked for Ms. Shelley and Ms. Kirsten's class.

*Each child MUST have a helmet.  There can be no sharing of helmets.

*You can take your bike home directly after the ride or pick it up in the carpool line when you pick up your child Friday afternoon.

The Halloween Parade will be at 9:00 on Friday, the 30th, at the track.  All ages will parade around the track in their costumes.  Reminder:  NO weapons or scary costumes!  Please label each piece of your child's costume because we will be changing into regular clothes after the parade.

We hope to see you all there!

The Kindergarten class went to the Children's Theatre this week.

They saw "The Little Red Hen"!

We would like to encourage everyone to join Ms. Kirsten and I at Veterans Park in Hoover this Saturday for Sebastian's run/walk for a cure!  It starts at 8:30 AM for the 5K run/walk and 10:00 AM for the 1 mile kids' funrun/family walk.  Sebastian was a former student of JBMA who passed away at the age of 7 of cancer.  This event is especially dear to me because he was in my preschool class for 3 years.  He was a loving, funny, energetic little boy who brought a smile to every person he met.  Please help us raise money in his honor to find a cure for childhood cancer.  Sincerely, Ms. Shelley

We can't believe it's almost September!  We have finished up our study of birds and will now focus on leaves, trees, and flowers.  We had messy fun with Jackson Pollock paintings.  We will continue to study North America through the month of September.
